This Scholarship is to students that have demonstrated academic scholarship, have attended high school in Oneida County for four (4) consecutive years, and are registered to attend the State University of New York, Institute of Technology (SUNY/IT) in the tele-communications or an associated curriculum. This is being done in Bruce’s honor because he loved his community and he served for many years as a curriculum advisor to SUNY/IT faculty.
The C. Bruce Parker Scholarship is initially being managed by the AFCEA, Erie Canal Chapter. The initial goal is to provide at least a One Thousand Dollar ($1,000.00) scholarship each year and the raise sufficient funds so that an endowed scholarship fund of at least $25,000.00 at SUNY/IT can be established. Once this level has been achieved the Foundation will continue to award a $1,000.00 each year.
